L’Eco delle cantonate
August 14, 2011 – 7:46 pmUmberto Eco prende due cantonate in un colpo solo. Nella bustina di questa settimana, fa dire ad Humphrey Bogart «That’s the power of the press, baby, the power of the press. And there’s nothing you can do about it» e visto che in italiano la frase è stata tradotta come «È la stampa, bellezza, e tu non puoi farci nulla» induce che «L’inglese è più ridondante dell’italiano».
Immagino che Eco conosca l’inglese abbastanza bene, cosa che non si può dire del film, visto che Bogart dice testualmente «That’s the press, baby, the press. And there’s nothing you can do about it». Se l’avesse saputo la mia prof di filosofia che bastava un click per smontare un ragionamento.
