Carpino Folk Festival 2008

Nine days of music, more or less traditional and folk. The Carpino Folk Festival, just Carpino Folk for strict friends, for not-so-friends just Carpino¹, starts on 1st August while the last concert will be the night of the 9th. Or, better, the early morning of 10th.

Two big guess star (big since they are famous, not because they are fat): Vinicio Capossela Tuesday 5th, and Teresa De Sio who will perform during the last concert, which will also host the never missing Cantori. Anyway, it’s not the special guest the main characteristic of this manifestation, but the people explosion in the street which often like minor artists, who are people closer to the people than the popular singers. A tremors going on even after the happening, in the small square of the town, singing playing dancing or just talking². And those who are only interested in the special guests, well… Those understood nothing.

This year there will also be a Quest’anno ci sarà anche un Photo Contest: pictures must be shooten during the manifestation and not later than 5.00 AM on the 10th. On the website you will also find the full description and rules, but I’m afraid it’s only in Italian. Bytheway, I’m not so sure it’s a good idea to celebrate the contest after the end of the Festival.

One more thing. During the Festival there will be a bus shuttle which will connect Carpino to the main touristic places on the coast toward East to Pugnochiuso.

I do not need to remember that all the concerts and the happenings will be totally free.
